NYT bestselling author and meditation teacher Susan Piver has taught thousands of people the magic of meditation in workshops, events, and retreats all over the world. In her new book The Four Noble Truths of Love, Susan has uniquely applied Buddhist wisdom to modern relationships.

Even though it was the first time we spoke, I instantly felt like I had known Susan for years. In this podcast, we have a smiling and rich talk about the challenges, rewards, surprises, and insights of the meditative path.

Before our talk, I answer a listener question about insecurities and how they can lead to greater compassion.

Meditation teacher George Haas spent a lot of time seeking while he was growing up in New York. After experiencing a bout of particularly deep suffering, he got sober, moved to Los Angeles and started extensively studying Buddhist texts. In 2003, he founded the Mettagroup where he uses a combination of Buddhist teaching and John Bowlby’s Attachment Theory to help students reduce their suffering and live meaningful lives.

In this podcast, we talk about the path that led George to become a meditation teacher, how he uses Attachment Theory in his work, and his definition of enlightenment.

Before our talk, I answer a listener question about overwhelming thoughts during meditation.

Blue Morpho founder Hamilton Souther has returned home. After heading to the Amazon jungle more than a decade before the plant medicine renaissance, he became a renowned master shaman and founded Blue Morpho in 2002. Since then, Blue Morpho has become one of the most longstanding, highly regarded shamanism centers in the world. Several years ago, Hamilton returned to the United States to pursue other ways of healing and consciousness evolution. This year, he was called to return to where it all began. Blue Morpho in the heart of the Amazon jungle.

In this podcast, we talk about what drew Hamilton back to doing medicine work, how he has seen humanity’s collective consciousness shift over the years, and the way technology is shaping our reality.

Before our talk, I answer a listener question on conflict resolution and discuss how we can be less reflexive and think more clearly when our emotions are heightened.

West Memphis Three member Damien Echols has lived a life none of us can imagine. In the mid 90’s, Damien and two others were wrongly convicted of murder and sentenced to death. He lived on death row for 18 years, 10 of which he was in solitary confinement. The HBO documentary Paradise Lost covered his story and brought the case to the attention of the public. Eventually, forensic evidence proved Damien’s innocence and he was released from prison. After his release, he wrote the NYT bestselling book Life After Death.

But how did Damien get through 10 years in solitary confinement? By studying and practicing magick and meditation. On this podcast, we go deep into what Damien experienced during his time in prison, how he was able to take ownership of his life and his new book High Magick: A Guide to the Spiritual Practices That Saved My Life on Death Row.

Before the interview, I answer a listener question on self-love and discuss how we can learn to feel whole by changing our focus.
